Having originally qualified as a barrister, Chris qualified ATT and CTA whilst at Grant Thornton.

He is currently a tax director at Andrew & Palmer chartered accountants in Dorset, prior to which he was a technical officer at the CIOT, a full time lecturer at Mercia and has worked in several accountancy practices including Haines Watts in Exeter over the last 13 years.

His specialisms lie within the agricultural sector and capital taxes and he still lectures on a freelance basis.

He spent several years on the West of England STEP committee, is a regular contributor to Tax Insider magazine, has written several academic articles and his book ‘Implied Trusts and Beneficial Ownership in Modern UK Tax Law’ was published at the end of 2021.
